Do Your Own Xbox 360 Red Light Repair

If you own an Xbox 360 then there’s a good chance you’ve either encountered or heard about the Red Rings of Death (RROD). You pretty much known you have the RROD because the lights that are usually green on the front of your console will turn to three red lights. What these red lights are telling you is that a general hardware error has happened and that you can’t play your system. While searching the internet I have come across only a few resources that provide the instructions on how to fix broken Xbox 360’s. Once I learned about an Xbox 360 red light repair, I felt that I should share the repair guides that I used that helped me successfully fix not only my own, but a few other 360’s as well. This was really amazing since I learned that about 35% of all Xbox 360’s will experience this same problem sometime in their lifetime. Taking this into account that must mean there are thousands of Xbox 360 owners who need the repair that I happened to stumble upon. It’s because of this percentage that I want to help other people find the very resource that has helped me learn how to repair the 360’s red lights.

I wouldn’t be writing this if what I learned didn’t work, and it’s because it did work, and worked so well that I’m taking the time out of my day to tell you about it. And it’s also because I know the people who are in the same position I was in will find this really helpful. The Xbox 360 is a very delicate console and when not properly taken care of you may experience some pretty serious and nasty problems. Upon the Xbox 360’s release in 2005 it was quickly discovered that the system had serious performance issues and errors. The seriousness of the system errors brought many people to try and find a solution, but it wasn’t until recently that a permanent fix has been found. Microsoft Xbox 360 repair - Useful Tips

The Xbox 360, successor to the Xbox, is a video game console by Microsoft. Microsoft Xbox 360 contends with Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii. A prominent feature of the Xbox 360 is its integrated Xbox Live service. Arcade games,game demos,trailers,TV shows,movies,etc can be downloaded online using Xbox 360. Other features include its Windows Media Center multimedia capabilities, mandatory high definition support, movie rentals and the ability to watch HD DVD movies with an add-on drive. The Xbox 360 was unveiled on MTV on May 12, 2005, with detailed launch and game information divulged at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). 28 million units were sold all over the world, with the exception being Japan. It is currently available in three configurations: the “Arcade”, the “Pro”, and the “Elite” console, each with its own selection of accessories.

The Xbox 360 is the first game machine to lower its prices. Microsoft puts pressure on rivals Nintendo and Sony to cut the prices of their machines.Thus it facilitates more people to buy Xbox 360. It sells for less than $200, a key mass-market price that has accounted for more than 75 per cent of all machine sales in Microsoft. The US prices of the entry-level console of the video game machine, had been lowered to $50 below Nintendo Co Ltd’s top-selling Wii. The company said it will cut prices for its entry-level Xbox 360 Arcade, which comes without a hard drive, to $199 from its current price of $279 and it also will lower the prices of its mid-range and high-end Xbox 360 consoles by $50 each. Microsoft also had said it will cut the price of its Xbox 360 Pro, with a 60-gigabyte hard drive, to $299 from $349 and its top-end Xbox 360 Elite with a 120-gigabyte hard drive to $399 from $449.

Xbox 360 problems are quite common. The console is subject to a number of technical problems. Of all the indications, flashing red light series are used commonly to identify errors in the console. Recently, there has been legal action taken attempting to hold Microsoft responsible for the failure rate and provide reasonable compensation for those affected. Warning signs includes freeze-ups, with graphical problems like checkerboard or pinstripe patterns in the middle of game play, frozen or strange, static-like sound, and the console only responds to pressing the power button to turn it off. When the error occurs, the user attempts to turn the console on and the three red lights are seen and the console will not function. In newer consoles, there can be three lights flashing with a green light flashing in the center for power outages.
