Even if your Warrior has avoided it in the past, PvP combat is in their future. WotLK has brought a new emphasis to World of Warcraft’s World PvP. There’s now a real time PvP battle zone called Lake Wintergrasp. There, the emphasis is on real-time World PvP. In this new zone, players go at it on the live server to win points they can use to shop for all sorts of special items, including the new Heirloom items that any of the player’s characters in that account regardless of that character’s level can use.

Given the popularity of Lake Wintergrasp and the increasing amount of PvP combat in other popular games, there will surely be even more World PvP in the future. Here’s what you need to know for your Warrior to rule in this new world:

Playing a Warrior class character in World of Warcraft PvP seems straightforward. Find the enemy, then hack him to pieces! But there’s actually a lot more to it than that. Keep reading to see what I mean.

As you would imagine, the goal of a Warrior is to deal as much physical damage as possible. What catches people by surprise is that the best Warriors are not so much worried about taking physical damage as they are suffering spell damage. The reason for this is simple. Only Paladins and other Warriors can survive in hand to hand combat with a skilled Warrior. But everything changes if their opponents have powerful magic on their side.

In PvP situations, a Warrior seldom gets many opportunities for such hand to hand combat. You’re more likely to encounter spell casters and ranged fighters like Hunters than you are to duel other Warriors. This means strategy and tactics are necessary.

A Warrior’s biggest problem is getting close enough to an opponent to bring sword or axe to bear, and how to stay close enough long enough to kill the target. The other classes know better than to get you get too close, and will be doing everything they can to stay out of your range. This means you will need to use specialized skills like Charge at the start of battles and Intercept to close the gap while in battle. Once close, your Warrior will need to use debilitating skills like Hamstring and Intimidating Shout to keep your quarry close, then load up on rage and hit the opponent as hard as possible.

And while you’re thinking about all this, don’t forget that those damnable casters and ranged fighters will be slowly sapping your strength with their annoying spells and puny arrows. For this reason, you must learn how to use your defensive stances and spell reflects to minimize the harm they do to you, get comfortable with the timing of Intercept and Hamstring, and be ready to deal massive amounts of damage to any character fool enough to end up within your weapons range. A quality Warrior PvP Guide can give you the knowledge you need to master all this without spending hundreds of hours experimenting and practicing.

A quality Warrior PvP Guide will show you how to defeat the other character classes in various situations, where brute strength and sheer combat power aren’t the deciding factor. It will teach you how to take on your opponents on your own terms, including those unmanly ranged fighters and robe-wearing spell casters. A top-notch Warrior PvP Guide will also show you the proper use of your rage and crowd control abilities, enabling you to immobilize and dismember your foes.

Finally, since the best PvP Guide will incorporate the hard-earned experience of veteran Warriors, it will contain strategies and tactics that you’re unlikely to discover on your own in any reasonable amount of time. With such a Guide you will learn the key things you need to know, saving you vast amounts of time and energy you would otherwise spend on trial and error.

PvP After WotLK: Your Hunter Can Dominate

June 22nd, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

PvP combat is in your Hunter’s future, even if you’ve avoided it so far. Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) has brought more advanced, real time battles to the game.

The first real time PvP battle zone is Lake Wintergrasp. In this new zone, players battle on the live server (no instancing) to earn points they can use to buy a wide variety of special items, including the new Heirloom items. These are items that any of the player’s characters in that account regardless of that character’s level can use.

Given the popularity of Lake Wintergrasp and the increasing amount of PvP combat in other popular games, there will surely be even more World PvP in the future. So let’s talk about Hunters and PvP:

Playing a Hunter class character in WoW PvP requires many of the same skills real hunter possess. You need to be able to identify the target and figure out how it will react so you can anticipate what it will do next. You also need to know your own capabilities and the capabilities of your gear. And you need to be able to maneuver into the optimal position to take out your target before they can take you out.

However, in Hunter PvP combat, there are issues that no real-world hunter has to deal with. You need to know when and how to deploy your Freezing and Frost Traps and essential crowd control devices is one thing. You also need to know how to manage the space between you and your prey so you can cause as much ranged damage as possible in each duel. And you must do all this against an intelligent character, rather than a wild animal.

If you want to be really successful in Hunter PvP combat, you need to know the strategy and tactics for killing each class of opponent. It’s particularly important to understand how Druids, Warriors, and Rogues are likely to come at you. At the same time, you have to have a strategy for countering quick charges into hand-to-hand combat range by Warriors and Rogues.

It’s possible to learn what you need to know by putting in enough time in the arena. But I can tell you from personal experience that if you try, you had better be prepared to get defeated regularly and be humiliated for a long time. I spent many frustrating hours ranking last or near last in the standings when I tried. It wasn’t until I picked up a Hunter PvP Guide that I started climbing in the standings rapidly.

Because a top notch PvP Guide contains the hard-earned experience of Hunters with a vast amount of experience, it will contain strategies and tactics that are not obvious to newer players. It will teach you the most important things to know, saving you a big block of time you would otherwise have to spend dying in battle before you become good at PvP combat.

Find out how your Hunter can dominate any kind of Player versus Player combat with the PvP Bible. Visit PvP-Bible.info to discover more about this great Hunter PvP Guide, or order your copy of the Guide here.

Dominate World PvP with this Paladin Guide

June 14th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

Even if your Paladin has avoided it in the past, Player versus Player (PvP) combat is in their future. Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) has brought a new emphasis to World of Warcraft’s World PvP. There’s now a real time PvP battle zone called Lake Wintergrasp. There, the emphasis is on real-time World PvP. There players face off on the live server to earn points they can use to buy a wide variety of rare and valuable items such as the new Heirloom items that any of the player’s characters in that account from level 1 to 80 and beyond can take advantage of.

Given the popularity of Lake Wintergrasp and the trend toward PvP combat in the gaming industry, there will surely be even more World PvP in the future. Here’s what you need to know to handle your Paladin in this new world:

WoW Paladins are a schizophrenic bunch. On the one hand, they’re almost as good in hand-to-hand combat as Warriors. On the other hand, they can heal themselves and others like Priests do. This schizoid behavior carries over into World of Warcraft Paladin PvP combat, meaning that you really need to understand both sides of your character’s personality to dominate player versus player combat.

Given their two-sided personality, it’s no surprise that a Paladin can play a few different roles in PvP. When soloing, their ability to heal themselves can drive their opponents crazy. With a full load of mana, they can use their self-healing abilities to recover from almost any level of damage once or twice. In effect, their healing abilities let them absorb almost triple the damage you might otherwise expect. In other words, a smart Paladin with mana available to use will still be standing long after they “should” be dead. In a group, A Paladin will often end up in a support role, providing bubbles, blessings, heals, and combat support wherever it is needed on the battlefield. This is a role that a skilled Palading will excel at, making them valuable assets for any party.

While playing a Paladin offers many benefits, the Paladin class has its shortcomings too. A Paladin’s mana supply is always limited, and when the mana runs out, so are many of this classes advantages. Even when their mana reserve is full, Paladins can have a terrible time drawing close enough to elusive classes like Hunters and Mages to do any damage at all! The keys to winning as a Paladin are understanding how best to use your limited mana supply, and understanding how to fight each of the opposing classes. As with other WoW classes, learning what you need to know by personal experience is bloody, frustrating, and time consuming.

This is a great reason to invest in a Paladin PvP Guide. A quality guide gives you a blueprint for fighting against each other character class. And that’s not all it will offer you. It will teach you just about everything you could ever care to know about fighting and winning with a Paladin in each player versus player environment, whether dueling or, as part of a group, or in World combat.

Do You Know About Honor Points and PvP Tokens?

March 25th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

Honor Points and PvP Tokens are rewards your character earns from winning in PvP combat. When you accumulate enough of these, you can use them to buy better gear than you would be able to otherwise. You definitely want to accumulate Honor Points and PvP Tokens. This is how you do it:

Earning Honor Points

When you kill characters from the opposing faction, you will earn Honor Points. That is, you’ll earn them as long as the character you killed was no more than 8 levels lower than your character. Killing opponents who are more than 8 levels below you is considered poor sportsmanship, and doesn’t gain you honor. This means that if you want to gain honor for your kills you need to pick on characters your own level, or at least ones that are within shouting distance of your level.

Once you accumulate enough Honor Points you will be able to use them, along with Battleground Marks of Honor (earned, not surprisingly, for your actions in the battlegrounds), to buy stuff in the Champions’ Hall at Stormwind City or the Hall of Legends in Orgrimmar. Lots of interesting stuff is available, including consumables like potions, gems and trinkets, even superior or epic armor and weapons.

You can turn in one Mark of Honor from each battleground to gain extra honor as part of the Concerted Efforts quest (Alliance) or the For Great Honor quest (Horde). You can also repeat these quests to generate additional honor.

Getting PvP Tokens

You can earn PvP Tokens in the Outland (the Mark of Honor Hold or Halaa Battle Token for example) as a reward for killing opposing players. Tokens are a lot like the Marks of Honor you get when you fight in the battlegrounds, except that only PvP vendors in the region the token comes from will honor them. So if your character had Marks of Honor Hold, for example, Honor Hold PvP vendors would accept them but Halaa PvP Vendors would not. PvP Tokens are most valuable to you when you are below Level 70, since the gear you can buy with them doesn’t go up past this level.

Now you know about how Honor Points and PvP Tokens can help your character get better gear. And you have some good ideas about where to go to earn them. But if you want to dominate PvP combat, or even hold your own against more experienced players, there’s a lot more you should learn. To learn everything you need to know, including the most current strategies & tactics you can use to dominate all aspects of PvP, you need a killer PvP guide. Visit PvP-Bible.info

Types of PvP Combat

March 24th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

When people start talking about PvP combat, it soon becomes clear that there are various settings where it can happen. This short guide to the settings will make it easier for you to find PvP combat when you want it, as well as understand what others mean when they talk about battlegrounds or World PvP or whatever. Keep reading for a super-fast introduction to each setting:

Fighting Duels

Duels are voluntary one-on-one battles between players. You don’t have to be on a PvP server to duel, but you can’t duel within cities. One of the best places to find someone to duel against is the entrance to any major city, which is where duelists often hang out looking for someone to challenge.

The Battlegrounds

Horde and Alliance go at it in the battlegrounds, competing to win battles and earn marks. Marks serve as a sort of money that you can trade for various items, including better PvP gear. You can only use marks at the special PvP vendor shops.

The Arenas

Arena combat is organized team versus team combat in the form of an ongoing tournament. Teams (2v2, 3v3, 5v5) battle against other teams of the opposing faction as well as against teams of their own faction. You become a member of a team to fight in the arena and earn Arena Points as a team.

Random PvP

Any time you encounter a player from the other faction who has their PvP flag on, you can do battle with them. In PvP realms, that flag is always set, except in a few protected areas, you’re always open to attack. You can manually turn your PvP flag on and off by typing /pvp, and various circumstances will turn it on automatically, even if you aren’t playing in a PvP realm.

World PvP Combat

Some zones have goals that involve PvP. To complete these you’ll need to be ready to fight. Zones with these kinds of goals include, the Eastern Plaguelands, Silithus, Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh, Terokkar Forest, and Nagrand.

PvP Zones

Wintergrasp is the first of a new type of zone that is totally dedicated to PvP combat. Expect more in the future.

What Next?

You should now have a basic understanding of the different settings where you can find PvP combat. But if you want to dominate PvP combat, or even hold your own against more experienced players, there’s a lot more you should learn. To get the complete story on PvP, including the most current strategies & tactics you can use to dominate all aspects of PvP, visit PvP-Bible.info

Activating PvP Mode

March 18th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

Has your character ever found himself or herself being slaughtered by hostile player characters when you didn’t even know your character was in PvP mode? Or maybe you were luckier and happened to glance at your character portrait and notice your PvP flag was set for no reason that you knew of? Knowing how you get into PvP mode can spell the difference between life and death for your character. Let’s get right to it and see how you can end up in PvP mode.

The ways you can get into PvP mode depend on the kind of server you’re playing on. If your server is a Normal (sometimes called “truce”) realm, the rules are different than if you’re playing in a PvP realm which makes a certain amount of sense if you think about it. Let’s start with a Normal realm.

Your character will end up in PvP mode in a Normal realm if:

  • You attack a player character (PC) of the opposite faction who is in PvP mode themself.
  • You help (by using a beneficial spell or ability on them) a PC from your faction who happens to be in PvP mode.
  • You attack an NPC guard or civilian from the opposing faction.
  • You bravely enter an enemy capital city.
  • You enter any one of the battlegrounds.
  • You enter one of the free-for-all PvP areas (Gurubashi Arena, for example) where you can attack anyone, even if they’re from your own faction.
  • You put your character into PvP mode intentionally by typing /pvp. Even if you immediately type /pvp again to exit PvP mode, your character will remain in PvP mode for five minutes (see the following explanation).

How ever your character got into PvP mode, they will stay there until five minutes after their last action that could put them into PvP mode. So if your character went into Gurubashi Arena, the PvP flag would remain on the entire time your character is in there, until 5 minutes after they left the arena (unless they did something else to trigger PvP mode).

In a PvP Realm

If your character is in a PvP realm, all the conditions we just talked about apply. Beyond that, there are two more conditions that will raise your character’s PvP flag:

  • Entering a Contested zone.
  • Entering an Enemy zone.

Basically in a PvP realm, going anywhere other than Friendly territory or a Sanctuary zone will put your character into PvP mode. After all, this is a PvP realm we’re talking about. So think back to when you discovered that your character was in PvP mode. With a little effort, you can probably figure out which of the conditions you accidentally triggered to set the flag. If nothing else, you’ll at least know what to watch out for next time. Now all you need to know is how to best defend yourself in PvP mode, whether you get there accidentally or on purpose.

Eventually your character will end up in PvP mode, so learning how to fight well when you’re there only makes sense. To learn everything you need to know, including the newest strategies & tactics that will show you how to dominate all aspects of PvP, visit PvP-Bible.info

Three Overlooked Keys of WoW PvP Success

March 10th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

WoW Player versus Player combat has to be one of the best and exciting parts of the WoW experience. The interaction with the other people on your side is fun, and once you start having success, well PvP can be more than a little addictive. But PvP can be bewildering when you first start. It’s confusing, and you die an awful lot. And even if you are a veteran of PvP combat, it’s not hard to forget some of the basics. I’ve been there. Particularly once you’re having success, you can easily get caught up in the moment and forget the fundamentals that got you where you are now in the first place.

So let’s talk about 3 basic tactics you need to apply whether you’re new to this whole PvP thing, or are already making a name for yourself at a high level in WotLK.

First, you have to be able to heal yourself. You may be brutally efficient at taking out the enemy quickly, and you may have healers assigned to keep you and your brethren alive, but when it comes to the crunch, you need to be able to treat the worst of your wounds some potions and bandages for emergency treatment of yourself. Do you really want your character to die because your healer was helping someone else, or ran low on mana, or got called away by his mommy when you needed him most?

Second, learn about macros. Learn how to make them, then make them for all your key actions, and use them. When your foes are all around you, and you’re life is on the line, getting off that spell or using that special ability fast is essential. Once you create and become skilled with macros for your special abilities and important spells, you’ll have a massive advantage over people who don’t use them.

Third, remember that you need to defend as well as attack. This is where getting caught up in the moment really causes problems. What use is it if you capture a base or take a flag, only to lose it again because no one stayed around to defend it? The blood lust driving you to hunt down and slaughter one more foe can be almost irresistible, but sometimes the right thing you can do for your self and your side is to defend what you have instead of going on the attack.

Master these three things, and keep them in mind when the blood lust is upon you, and you’ll be far more successful in PvP. Still, freely-available information like this, and even your own skill will only take you so far. To really rule in PvP combat, you’re gonna need help.

To advance to the highest levels of PvP, you need to learn from the experience of the very best PvP gamers. You can either try to find a mentor in the game who will teach you, or you can be smart and invest in a quality PvP Guide. The best PvP guides include much more than basic information like in this article. They are filled with specific, detailed information and guidance for each type of character. And the source of that information is the very best PvP players. The top PvP guides will gather and organize that information for you, along with providing updates whenever a new patch like WotLK comes out.

If you want to dominate WoW PvP, you need to invest in the best guide. Go to http://PvP-Bible.info to learn more.

Use a Hunter PvP Guide to Dominate PvP

March 10th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

Playing a Hunter class character in WoW PvP requires some of the skills of a real hunter. You need to be able to identify the target and figure out how it will react so you can anticipate its next move. You also need to know your own capabilities and the capabilities of your gear. And you need to be able to maneuver into the optimal position to take out your target before they can take you down.

However, in Hunter PvP combat, there are issues that no real-world hunter has to deal with. Understanding the right time to use your Freezing and Frost Traps and essential crowd control devices is necessary but not enough. You need to know how to maintain the ideal distance between you and your prey to cause the most possible DPS damage in each duel. And you must do all this against an intelligent character, rather than a wild animal.

To truly succeed in Hunter PvP combat, you need to know the strategy and tactics for killing each class of opponent. In particular you need to understand how Druids or Warriors or Rogues are likely to approach you. At the same time, you have to have a strategy for countering quick charges into hand-to-hand combat range by Warriors and Rogues.

Learning what you need to know on your own is possible if you put in enough time in the arena. But from my own personal experience, if you try this you can expect to get crushed and humiliated for a long time. I spent many frustrating hours ranking last or near last in the standings when I tried. It wasn’t until I picked up a Hunter PvP Guide that I was able to make real progress.

Even if you do decide to learn the ins and outs of Hunter PvP combat yourself, you’ll find that a quality PvP Guide will contain information that you’re unlikely to discover on your own. In short, a good PvP Guide will save you vast amounts of time and energy you would otherwise spend learning the secrets of Hunter PvP combat on your own.

Dominate PvP Using a Death Knight PvP Guide

March 8th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

With the release of Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK), a new class of character, the Death Knight, is stalking WoW PvP. With an intriguing mix of melee and casting skills, including magics learned form the Lich King that were formerly forbidden, the Death Knight brings new opportunities and problems to PvP combat. With its versatility, Death Knight PvP play can range from massive physical attacks like a Warrior, to being a support caster for a party. You can even do some limited healing. The options are many.

Perhaps your most important consideration as a PvP Death Knight is your talent tree. With three major talent lines, Frost, Blood, and Unholy, your need to be careful to choose talents that support your play style or you will fail to benefit from this class’s unique attributes. The talents in the Blood line will give your character high DPS physical attacks similar to those of a Warrior, while Unholy talents will give you diseases and summoning to throw at your enemies. Talents in the Frost line nicely complement those in the other two lines, and make Frost/Blood or Frost/Unholy hybrids powerful. While of course your personal play style has a big effect, the right mix of Frost and Unholy talents may well be the best possible Death Knight PvP build. Regardless, the way you fight in PvP will figure mightily into deciding the best way to build out your Death Knight.

Beyond deciding how to spec out your Death Knight, you need to know how to take on the other player classes, in PvP and how they are likely to challenge you. Everything to do with playing a Death Knight in PvP is new and confusing. Getting advice from the top PvP players could give you a huge edge in how well you do in PvP combat.

Considerations like these are why a Death Knight PvP guide is crucial for your success. Even though no one has the depth of experience with Death Knights as they do with, say, Warriors or Mages, many of the best World of Warcraft PvP already have Death Knight experience that they share in newly-updated PvP Guides. Getting the top Death Knight Guide can save you many hours of trial and error (and many headaches) as you get your character ready to dominate the arena.

Find out how your Death Knight can come to dominate the battlefield and score above a 2200 honor rating in as little as 38 days with the PvP Bible. Visit PvP-Bible.info to learn more about this great Death Knight PvP Guide, or order your own copy right now at: http://ThePvPBible.info.

Dominate Player Versus Player Combat Using this Rogue PvP Guide

March 8th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

Playing a Rogue class character in World of Warcraft PvP combat can be incredibly fun. Because Rogues have so many unique skills (like stealth and poisoning), they can take out their foes in ways no other class can. At the same time, all these unique skills can make Rogue PvP combat very complex. In short, playing a Rogue in PvP is an exciting challenge.

When played well, a Rogue delivers more DPS (Damage Per Second) than any other player class in the arena. On top of that, Rogues have a Hunter’s speed and the hand-to-hand combat ability of a Warrior, not to mention some of the crowd control ability of a Warlock. If you can learn to use all your Rogue’s abilities well, you can challenge the Druids top dog in the arena.

What really makes Rogues so dangerous in PvP combat is their combination attacks. By using the right combinations, called Stunlocks, a Rogue can so thoroughly dominate certain character types that they can terminate their target before the poor victim even gets off an attack! The trick is to learn the right combos for each opposing class, and to be able to execute them properly in combat.

Learning all the ins and outs of Rogue combat is hard. Understanding and perfecting stunlocks is hard enough, since they require precise timing and detailed positioning. But that’s just the beginning. You can’t forget the use of poisons, dropping combat, and evasion, yet more precision skills that you must master. Getting all this right isn’t easy to do on your own. Fortunately for you, other players have gone down this road before you, and captured all they’ve learned about using a Rogue in PvP Guide books. Getting the best Rogue Guide can save you many hours of trial and error as you get your character ready to dominate the arena.

Find out how your Rogue can come to dominate the battlefield and score above a 2200 honor rating in as little as 38 days with the PvP Bible. Visit this review site to learn more about this great Rogue PvP Guide, which includes coverage of Wrath of the Lich King, or get your own copy right now at: http://ThePvPBible.info.
