Gold Guide | Discover the Best Farming Locations

Farming is killing certain mob in certain location to earn gold and loots from it; even though it is an old and simple ways to make gold, it is still a powerful method if used correctly. With a good gold farming guide, you’ll know the most profitable locations, zones, or instances to farm; the fastest techniques to finish the mob and earn your loots; and the best class to do it.

This is not a detailed gold farming guide, but I’ll try to reveal as much as I can. If you just created your character, it is impossible to farm effectively, so go and grab a couple of quests, earning experience, gain several copper or silver, and get your character to level 15.

If you have reached level 15, there are tow alternatives. If you are an Alliance character, go to Defias Windmill, you’ll find it at Gold Coast area in Westfall. There are a lot of Defias mobs around the windmill that drop linen cloth and other good humanoid loot. These mobs are around level 12, so it should be easy to finish them; the spawn rate also pretty high, so you don’t have to worry about running out of mobs to kill.

If you are in Horde faction, you can go to The Barrens and start killing Great Plainstrider. It has pretty high chance to drop Light Feather, which is sold well at the AH. Sometimes it also drops fair weapons and armors such as Fire Wand or Native Sash.

An iron rule in early level farming is always keep your bag empty as much as possible; you can do it by selling all your trash whenever you find a vendor. If you happen to be in a condition where your bag is full and there is no vendor around, throw away the less valuable items and keep the higher value ones.

Note that you can mix farming with other gold making methods for even more gold. These are some good farming spots for higher level character:

1. Alterac Mountains in Eastern Kingdoms; kill Elemental Slave here, they have slight chances to drop elemental earth that sell well at the Auction House.

2. Scarlet Monastery Graveyard in Trisfal Glades; look for Unfettered Spirit here, they are easy to kill compared to the other mobs and have fair drops.

3. The Badlands in Eastern Kingdoms; find normal Rock Elemental for lots of grey loots such as Lifeless Stone and Jagged Piece of Stone.

4. Searing Gorge in Eastern Kingdom; kills the elites here and get your Mageweave Cloth.

5. Felwood in Kalimdor; find the Deadwoods as they drop silver, Living Essences, rare herb, and major healing potions.

6. Shalzaru’s Lair at the Isle of Dread; kill the Nagas in order to gain Golden Pearl.

7. Deadwind Pass in Eastern Kingdoms; get Deadwind Ogre Mage for Runecloth drop.

8. Arklon Ruins in Netherstorm, Outland; look for Artifac Seeker and Fellblade Doomguard for Mark of Sargeras and Fel Armament.

9. Dragonblight in Northrend; start from Venomspite and make your way south to the shore while farm every humanoid mobs that you encounter to get gold and various loots.

10. Wintergrasp in Northrend; ready for some challenge? This PvP zone will make farming even more difficult, but you’ll find various Revenant here that drop Crystallized Air, Water, Shadow, Fire, and Earth.

Up until now, the top method for fast leveling in World of Warcraft is doing quests in highly optimized path where a couple of quests are finished simultaneously whenever possible, so this is what you want in your alliance leveling guide. The other benefit of this system is you don’t need to wasting time farming for gold since gold, gears, and items are earned from quests rewards. Note that this is a guide for Alliance character; for Horde character, check Horde leveling guide or Joana’s Leveling Guide Review.

When you just created your character, you will get different quests based on your starter zone, which is vary for each race. Later, you’ll also get different quests based on your class, but except for that, the quests for Alliance will be the same once you reached Stormwind.

For early level, let’s use Night Elf as an example; these are the quests series that you need to accomplish in order:

1. The Balance of Nature from Conservator Ilthalaine.

2. The Woodland Protector from Melithar Staghelm.

3. Webwood Venom from Gilshalan Windwalker at Aldrassil.

4. A Good Friend from Dirania Silvershine in Teldrassil.

5. A Friend in Need from Dirania Silvershine.

6. Iverron’s Antidote from Dirania Silvershine.

7. The Balance of Nature from Conservator Ilthalaine.

8. Webwood Venom from Gilshalan Windwalker at Aldrassil.

9. Webwood Egg from Gilshalan Windwalker.

10. Tenaron’s Summons from Melithar Staghelm in Teldrassil.

11. Crown of the Earth from Tenaron Stormgrip atop Aldrassil.

12. Iverron’s Antidote from Dirania Silvershine.

13. Crown of the Earth from Corithras Moonrage in Dolanaar.

14. In Favor of Elune from Shanda in Teldrassil.

15. Dolanaar Delivery from Porthannius in Teldrassil.

16. Zenn’s Bidding from Zenn Foulhoof outside of Dolanaar.

17. Denalan’s Earth from Syral Bladeleaf in Teldrassil.

18. A Troubling Breeze from Athridas Bearmantle in Teldrassil.

19. The Emerald Dreamcatcher from Tallonkai Swiftroot in Dolanaar.

20. Crown of the Earth from Tenaron Stormgrip at Aldrassil.

21. Recipe of the Kaldorei from Zarrin in Dolanaar.

22. Gnarlpine Corruption from Gaerolas Talvethren in Teldrassil.

23. Timberling Seeds from Denalan at Lake Al’Ameth.

24. Timberling Sprouts from Denalan.

Finishing those 24 quests should bring you to level 7. By level 12, you can choose to switch zones (eg: Westfall, Bloodmyst, Darkshore) and take the quests there or stay at your own zone; either way, if you keep going by taking the right quests series, eventually you’ll reach Stormwind. From there, the same Alliance leveling guide applied for all races.

Note that just taking quest after quest is hardly sufficient; you must complete it in the most time efficient possible by finishing various tasks from different quests in one go whenever you have the chances. Now, if you have reached Stormwind, you can take these following quests:

1. A Watchful Eye from Theocritus in Elwynn Forest.

2. The Price of Shoes from Verner Osgood in Redridge Mountains.

3. Blackrock Menace from Marshal Marris in Lakeshire.

4. The Everstill Bridge from Foreman Oslow in Redridge Mountains.

5. Underbelly Scales from Verner Osgood in Redridge.

6. A Baying of Gnolls from Verner Osgood.

7. Selling Fish from Dockmaster Baren in Redridge Mountains.

8. Murloc Poachers from Dockmaster Baren.

9. Howling in the Hills from Verner Osgood in Lakeshire.

10. Raven Hill from Elaine Carevin in Duskwood.

11. Deliveries to Sven from Elaine Carevin.

12. Eight-Legged Menaces from Watcher Dodds in Duskwood.

13. Wolves at Our Heels from Lars at Sven’s Camp on the western border of Duskwood.

14. Supplies from Darkshire from Abercrombie in Duskwood.

15. The Night Watch from Commander Althea Ebonlocke in Duskwood.

Four Best Farming Spots at Northrend

If you want to mass your gold in WoW, you have multiple options that you can do such as gather materials, craft items, enchant gears, playing with the Auction House supply and demand, etc. Despite all that selections, apparently most of us still cling to the old ways of making gold: farming.

Bashing monsters while earning gold is a great way to testing your skill and gear while having fun at the same time. I have prepared a list of farming spots in Northrend where you can gain proper amount of gold per hour. If you are looking for information on early level farming, I recommend that you check gold farming guide.

If you have reached Northrend, here’s the list:

1. The Storm Peaks
Mobs:
- Scion of Storm (level 78); have 33% chances to drop Relic of Ulduar, 26% chances to drop Crystallized Air.
- Seething Revenant (level 79); have 34% chances to drop Relic of Ulduar, 26% chances to drop Crystallized Fire.
- Icebound Revenant (level 78); has 22% probability in dropping Crystallized Water.
- Nascent Val’kyr (level 78); always drop Dissolved Soul Essence, 0.5% chances to drop Fractured Scarlet Ruby.
- Valkyrion Aspirant (level 74); have 29% chances to drop Frostweave Cloth, 41% chances to drop Relic of Ulduar.

2. Wintergrasp (PvP territory)
Mobs:
- Tempest Revenant (level 80); have 100% chance to drop Crystallized Air.
Water Revenant (level 80); nearly always gives you Crystallized Water.
- Shadow Revenant (level 80); almost sure to give you Crystallized Shadow.
- Flame Revenant (level 80); drop Crystallized Fire in most of the time.
- Earthbound Revenant (level 80); have 100% chances to drop Crystallized Earth.
Note that these mobs can only be seen with the ‘Essence of Wintergrasp’ buff.

3. Icecrown
Mobs:
- Converted Hero (level 79); have 40% chances to drop Frostweave Cloth. For every pack, there is about six mobs included; so the strategy is round them up and finish them quickly, thus you can have proper gold per hour rate.

4. Dragonblight
Start from south of Venomspite and keep moving south while taking down every mobs that you encounter. Most of them are humanoid type, so you’ll gain gold from them as well as various items. If your level is high enough, you can finish them quickly without much difficulties (most of the NPC are between level 70 and 73).

When you reach The Forgotten Shore, sweep the coast line for more mobs, then get to the ship and kill even more mobs. By the time you have done, the previous mobs should have respawn  already, so go back to where you came from and repeat the whole process.

Note: before you get start, check the items prices at your realm first; that way you can go for the one that offer maximum profits. Of course, checking prices is only a basic thing to do, check gold secrets review for more advanced AH method to maximize your earning from farming.

With so many options in gold making, obviously one will be better than the other. Eg: a player that have mastered Auction House can earn more gold in shorter time line that the one that mining ore for hours. This can be done by a low level character in a low level area or a group of high level characters doing instance runs. The two keys here: first, choose the right place and time to do it; second, pick the item drop that in high demand in the Auction House. If everything are “click” perfectly you can get decent gold from this method by selling your item drops at the Auction House.

3. Pick a Gatherer Profession
Mining, Herbalism, and Skinning are examples of gathering professions in WoW. Having one of these professions, you will be the one who supply the market with raw material or ingredients like gold, silver, stones, herbs, leather, hides, fish, and scales. Other professions such as Jewelcrafting and Engineering will process these materials further. With constant demand in materials for various recipes, there are much gold that can be made here. Just remember to collect the items that in high demand and put it in the Auction House after doing a little market research to decide the proper price. The other thing that you can do is find a crafter and make a deal where you will supply him/her at predetermined price.

4. Being a Crafter
A crafter profession is the one who process the raw material further so it can be used by other players. Jewelcrafting, Engineering, Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, Tailoring, Alchemy, and Inscription are examples of the crafter professions. However, for these professions you will need gold to maxed your skill level and buy materials or ingredients. You can get your materials or ingredients at Auction House, but if you craft something regularly you might want to form a contract with a gatherer so you can have steady supplies at reasonable price. Sometimes you will get cheaper price with the last method.

5. Auction House: Buy Low Sell High
“An advanced gold making method for the one with enough gold to burn” is what I want to say, but with the last development in Auction House method, apparently you can start making serious gold in Auction House at as low as level 5 with only 4 silver in your pocket. Like the title said, the idea is buy items at lower price than you will sell it; it sound simple but require good knowledge on the current supply and demand. A simple method is watching trade channel for a hot item you want, then start bargaining to attain the lowest price possible. Some other wow gold making guide might recommend different strategies, but all of it are based on the same principle: buy at low price and sell at high price.

6. Auction House: Being a Monopolist

This method will require decent amount of gold in your pocket since you will stock large amount of certain items and can’t expect result immediately. The idea is watching the market for certain item that you can monopolize, then buy ALL of them from the Auction House, leaving the supply for that particular item zero. After that, being the only large supplier for that item, put it at AH and raise the price. For a period of time, people will not buy it since they are still used to the old price. During this period, keep watch the AH for people who put the item at lower price and buy all of it. After a while, the buyers will get used to the new price and that is the time to release your stock to the market and earn your profits.

Sometimes this method doesn’t works well because people start gather the item you control and sell it at the Auction House once they saw the price raising. Talent Build Guide | How to Build A Holy Priest

There are two main path for a priest build: Holy and Shadow Priest. Each path offer different talent build and playing sytle. In this guide, the main focus is the Holy Priest path, so I will describe the talent build for that path.

If this is your first time playing a priest, know that there are few type of Priest: “Holy Priest” which is your conservative healing-focused Priest and ” Shadow Priest” which is focus on deadly skills. Note that while I can provide you with the talent build, the best ways to cover the other aspects of the game such as fast leveling and gold making is still by using a guide. Why? Priest Talent Builds
First, you will want to invest on Healing Focus and Improved Renew. Put two points in Healing Focus and 3 in Improved Renew; it is important that you can heal more without interruption.

The next things to do is maxed Spell Warding and Divine Fury to prolong your life. Add one point to Desperate Player, it will heal you instantly,  also another skill to prolong your life.

Maxing Holy Reach will give you 20% extra range for six different spells, keep you in safe distance while maintaining the survivability of your group members. Improved Healing is need to be maxed as well since it will reduce the mana cost for five different spells.

Conserve your mana with Healing Prayers; at max, you can get 20% mana cost reduction for two spells. As for Spirit of Redemption, you don’t want to use this often since it will make you die, but one point in this talent can save your group from a chaotic situation, so take this one as a reserve.

No one in your group will expect you to contribute significant damage, but 5 points in Spiritual Guidance can comes in handy when the situation demands.

Different Priest Leveling Guide suggest different approach for Surge of Light; if you are planning to use Smite and Flash Heal a lot at higher level, take this talent, otherwise just leave it. As for Spiritual Healing, you definitely want this as a Holy Priest since it will increase your healing spells by 10%.

Having a Lightwell is an extra advantage for your group during a raid; they can click it for heal, so it will make your job easier. It is not instant healing, but it is a good way to keep your mana for more demanding situation.

Spend five points: two in Empowered Healing as it will make your greater healing better and three for Serendipity as this one will cut your next spell mana cost; by doing so you have opened the next talents.

These next three talents are very important for a Holy Priest; I suggest that you maxed all of them. Empowered Renew will make your Renew heal the target instantly; Circle of Healing allowing you to heal up to five friendly party or raid members within range; Test of Faith increase healing rate on a party members whose health below 50%, increase the probability to save him/her.

These two last talents have many variation in different Priest Leveling Guide, some will say to invest the rest of the points in the Discipline Tree, but for this build, I will include it as well. Three points in Divine Providence will give you 6% power up for some healing spells and open your path to the next talents. As for the last talent, Guardian Spirit; it will increase your tank’s survivability and make it easier for you to keep him/her alive during chaotic situation.

As a Holy Priest, you will want to spend the last 20 points on the Discipline Tree to increase your survivability. Keeping yourself alive comes first before maintain the others health and a group will be in a very disadvantage when their healer dies, so these are how to spend the rest of your points:

  1. Unbreakable Will; reduce the duration of various side effects, enable you to back into battle faster.
  2. Silent Resolve; reduce the chance to dispell your helpful spells and damage over time spells.
  3. Improved Power Word: Fortitude; increase Fortitude and Prayer Fortitude by 30%.
  4. Martyrdom; gain Focused Casting effect for six seconds after getting hit by critical range or melee attack.
  5. Meditation; when you casting spells (which probably something that you will do at all time in battle), you still have 50% of your mana regeneration continues.
  6. Inner Focus; cut down the mana cost for your next spell by 100% and raising its critical rate by 25%.
  7. Improved Power Word: Shield; increase Shield word by 15%.

This priest leveling guide is focus on priest talent builds; as for leveling places you can visit instances dungeon with your group or leveling through quests. Doing quests is more recommended since it will earn you proper gear so you don’t have to bought it and it is faster to reach level 80. In my opinion, Civilization 3 was one of the best computer games ever devised. In addition to Civilization III, the pc games that I used to play periodically were Age of Mythology, Bridge Too Far, and Command & Conquer In comparison to these video games, the one thing I didn’t like about Civilization 3 was that it was a turn-based game. As such, gamers who want a multiplayer game experience are out of luck. Multiplayer Gaming Experience is definitely one of the great pleasures of playing games, as you play against real people than some Artificial Intelligence.

Among the Civilizations that I played most often in Civilization 3 were the Egyptians, the Babylonians, and the Americans. The above three were preferred civilizations, and I never played random, I always picked one of the 3 civilizations to play. Civilization 3 game itself is easy, and most people should pick up the game rapidly without hassle. Because it is turn based, you can’t just keep playing, you have wait for other players to play their turn, and if there are a large number of players, it can take forever. On a slow computer it cans a long while to load. The game is more fun during the middle ages, as you have quite a few resources and technology, and as such you can successfully wage wars.

Culture had always been an intriguing part of civilization 3, and I tried my best to expand my culture and have other cities switch to my sides.For border areas, it is important that they are happy, and if they aren’t they might switch allegiance. In Civilization 3 you don’t get to see a lot of action like in Red alert 2, but the small tank battles are especially fun. To me, one of favorite units in Civilization 3 is tank.

Expansion packs like Play of the world and Conquests followed Civilization 3 at a later time. A later version of Civilization 3 called Civilization 4 was introduced and it had expansion packs of its own. Unfortunately, college consumed most of my time, and I had little chance to do anything else. At this point, I am hearing rumors of Civilization 5.
