Is the Xbox the Game Winner?

February 8th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

The Xbox 360 is getting old. That is to say, in the rapidly advancing field of home video gaming it’s pretty much become the senior member. Released back in 2005, Microsoft’s follow up to its overwhelmingly successful original Xbox is now the oldest game console of what can be considered the current generation. The other two big players, Sony and Nintendo, both released their competing consoles at least a year after Microsoft. But is it still the best choice in gaming systems? Many would say it is.

The Xbox 360 came to the arena prepared to leave a lasting mark and to make sure the world knew that the second Xbox was going to hold its own against any and all competition. Sony already had the Playstation 1 and the Playstation 2 on the market, with development for Playstation 3 underway. Unfortunately for Sony, Microsoft beat them to the release date and contained fewer bugs.

The Wii is a unique gaming experience, that’s for sure. No one can argue that it offers something cool and allows you to play games in a way you’ve never done before. Okay, some people will argue against that and many will tell you the whole Wii controller is just ridiculous, but let’s leave these varying opinions to the wayside for now.

There are games on all three of the main consoles that compete directly with one another. Whatever Microsoft and Sony want to claim, if someone owns all three consoles but chooses to buy a certain game on Wii instead of the others, then it’s competition no matter how you draw it.

The games that are available to the Xbox 360 are far more advanced from a graphic point of view than those available for the Wii. They can also be designed to be more in depth and faster moving because the Xbox platform is just so powerful. In fact, many third party game designers can’t or simply don’t bother trying to put certain games on the Wii because it just won’t do what they want.

Whether it was the fault of the Wii or the fact that people just didn’t want it, the PS 3 didn’t sell well. This means less people are using it which means a lot of the gaming experience that the Xbox 360 and PS 3 are built around are simply better with the former. With the online gaming world, for instance, would you rather play the games amongst a fan base of 30 million people with the Xbox, or less than 15 million with the PS 3?

Tennis shoes, cars, computers and even soft drinks are all about marketing. There has to be something that sets it apart from the competitors. Microsoft took the game to a new playing field and charged up the competition. There will be other consoles in the future but until that time, in my opinion, the Xbox 360 is the way to go.

Hints And Tips For Finding XBOX 360 Achievements

November 28th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

The XBOX 360 achievements setup is one of the main contributors to its growing success.  It’s a excellent concept wherein you stack points by playing XBOX 360 games and finishing the various levels and challenges therein. Having amassed enough points you are able to swap them for various rewards in the form of downloadable goodies from Microsoft. There’s a lot more to it than this however.

Gathering points is a straightforward task for veteran gamers who are at freedom to devote hours beating challenging games and accomplishments.  But what about those among us who cannot invest hours at a push in attempting to unlock XBOX 360 achievements? Well you don’t have to feel hard done by in any way.

Here’s what you need to do to get the highest scores on the XBOX 360 with fewer hours of playing;

For starters you should pick the simplest games that are available for the XBOX 360. Remember that a simple title will mean simple gameplay too and some straightforward points to gain your XBOX 360 achievements. Some of the simpler games now available are King Kong, Madden NFL, Fight Night Round three and teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, to name some.

Various titles could consist of easy segments as well as tricky parts. Basically you get the most points for finishing the tricky parts, but that may be very time consuming.  Attempt to get as many XBOX 360 achievements as feasible from the easy levels and you might be better off.

Finally, it could be an idea to concentrate on your skills. You might be extraordinarily good at sporting games and not so much at ‘first person shooters’. Therefore, get on with the soccer and keep the gun away for a while! Just for the sake of gaining XBOX 360 achievements, it’s best not to attempt the games from genres you do not prefer. You could end up with little points but lots of disappointment that way.

There’s a lot of XBOX 360 achievements guides available online, which can give you updated info on the simplest way to maximize your points total simply. So you may need to keep a watch on these.

By employing a little bit of strategy and guile you can pile on the points while enjoying quality gaming time.  So best of luck with your XBOX 360 achievements and shoot at total mastery!

Endless Possibilities With Xbox 360 Mods!

November 21st, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

In technology, modification is employed to take anything ordinary and improve it to bring out better functions and capacities. Gamers may be dazzled to learn that you can also alter your Xbox 360 games console.  By using ‘Xbox 360 mods’ that are readily available, you can fine-tune the look, as well as performance, of their Xbox 360.

What are Xbox 360 mods? Performance mods are typically microchips with the special function of reinforcing the performance of the Xbox 360. This microchip takes control of the function of your Xbox and helps to perform some operations that may have been locked in the unmodified model. For example, transfering a file from your Xbox 360 to your computer could only be possible if you employ Xbox 360 mods.

Alongside this, with the help of Xbox 360 mods you are able to play titles which could have been formerly unplayable. This is a particularly important function of mods, particularly because videogame manufacturers place certain locks on their machines that only permit software made by their company to be used. Therefore, more often than not a great deal of your other software may be wasted, but for the use of Xbox 360 mods. Also, videogame software is coded by area and thus a title launched for the Japanese area may only be functional with an Xbox 360 over there. Xbox 360 mods make sure that these titles can be enjoyed on any console, anywhere on the planet, provided it is modified and ready.

Therefore, even if manufacturers are placing limitations into the console to prevent illegal software from being played, they are actually stopping customers from playing other such legal software that they may own. This is pushing gamers to install modifiers all around the planet.

Also, if you reckon that Xbox 360 only comes in drab colors then you might be in for a surprise. Different editions of Xbox 360 are being released together with new games as a complete promotional package.  So don’t be shocked if the Xbox 360 looks like the starship from your favourite game, complete with neon lights on the sides. A number of these altered Xboxs look pretty cool while others might look a bit outlandish. But {one thing’s} for sure - these visual  Xbox 360 mods will make your machine stand out from the rabble.

In conclusion, if you’d like your Xbox to excell in terms of performance as well as looks, get your Xbox 360 mods right now!

One of the most basic problems in gaming console technology is the issue of backwards compatibility. Xbox360 games have this feature. In order to play both versions of the games, update your game console through the live system. For this, a broadband internet connection must be present. The process of connecting your Xbox 360 forum to an available broadband connection will allow you to update your system. CD or DVD burning is another method. This is for those who do not have a broadband internet connection. It is sufficient to have a simple dial-up connection for this. Using this method, one could simply go to http://Xbox.com and download a copy of the game and simply burn it on a disc. The process is as simple as creating a cd. The last of the methods which would allow gamers to play Xbox360 games in a 360 console would be to order it directly from http://Xbox.com. The disc includes all the necessary updates needed by the system to enable it to have backwards compatibility.

Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony's PS3

May 4th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

The PlayStation 3 (abbreviated PS3) is the third home video game product of Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the successor to the PlayStation 2. It is PS3 vs Xbox 360 as the PlayStation 3 competes with Microsoft’s Xbox 360. It forms an important part of the seventh generation of video game consoles. A major feature that distinguishes the PlayStation 3 from its predecessors is its unified online gaming service, the PlayStation Network, which contrasts with Sony’s former policy of relying on game developers for online play. The PS3 was also the first Blu-ray 2.0-compliant Blu-ray player on the market. The PlayStation 3 was first released on November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America, and March 23, 2007 in Europe and Oceania. Two SKUs were available at launch: a basic model with a 20 GB hard drive (HDD) and a premium model with a 60 GB hard drive and several additional features.

The Xbox 360, the successor to the Xbox, is the second video game console produced by Microsoft. It competes with the likes of Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii. A prominent feature of the Xbox 360 is its integrated Xbox Live service. It allows players to compete online and download arcade games, game demos, trailers, TV shows, and movies. An Xbox support manual explains many Xbox features. They are Windows Media Center multimedia capabilities, mandatory support of high definition in all games and game downloads from its online marketplace. It also includes the ability to watch HD DVD movies with an add-on drive. The Xbox 360 was officially unveiled on MTV on May 12, 2005. The detailed launch and game information were divulged at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Except in Japan, the console sold out completely upon release in all regions. According to Microsoft, 28 million units have been sold worldwide, as of January 5, 2009. It is currently available as: the “Arcade”, the “Elite” and the “Pro" console, each with its own selection of accessories.

The Xbox360 problems are many in number and quite common. Many issues can be identified by a series of red lights flashing on the face of the console. These are the three flashing red lights or the Red Ring of Death. Other issues are discs becoming scratched and “bricking” of consoles due to dashboard updates. Many articles have appeared in the media portraying the Xbox 360’s relatively high failure rates. When a Microsoft Xbox 360 console experiences a “general hardware” or “core digital” failure, the warning signs include freeze-ups, with the screen having strange, spontaneous graphical problems, such as checkerboard or pinstripe patterns, frozen and strange, static-like sound, and the console only responds to pressing the power button to turn it off. In newer consoles, there can be three lights flashing with a green light flashing in the center for power outages

Microsoft Xbox 360 - Red ring of death problem and solution

April 29th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

The 3 red lights malfunction, also known as the “ring of death Xbox 360,” is a hardware problem that blocks Xbox 360. 3 of the 4 lights that surround the start button flash red instead of green. If the Xbox 360 console is showing 2 red lights or showing a message on the screen means there is an error 74. Whenever some error messages or red lights are displayed, it needs to be fixed quickly so that further damage to the console is minimized. In most of the cases, as the console gets heated, an important scalar chip of the system burns out. The Xbox 360 has a built-in system that allows technicians and operators to identify what part of the video game console is wrong when it breaks down. Xbox 360's breakdown is indicated by a number of these lights going red, and the machine stops working. The problem is indicated by the number of green lights turning red. The Xbox 360 one red light malfunction is much more specific. Out of the DVD drive and the hard drive, any one might be having the problem.

Many of the technical problems can be identified by the blinking red light on Xbox 360 (”Red Ring of Death” or the “Three Red Lights of Death””). When a Microsoft Xbox 360 console experiences a “general hardware” failure or “core digital” failure, these flashing red lights appear around the power button, in lieu of the four green lights indicating normal operation. Warning signs may include freeze-ups, in which the screen has strange, spontaneous graphical problems such as checkerboard or pinstripe patterns, frozen sound and strange, static-like sound, and the console only responding to pressing the power button to turn it off. The four lights can sometimes also be seen when power surges or very brief power outages occur while the console is running, in which the console needs to be unplugged and plugged back in again to reset the error. In newer consoles, there can be three lights flashing with a green light flashing in the center for power outages

In order to repair your Xbox 360, first Remove the hard drive and/or memory units, then Run “Initial Setup” under the system blade. Then Decline inserting HDD or memory unit when prompted and Sync the controller and pop in a game. Whenever a red light flashes then there are some problem with Xbox 360 console and we need to fix it. If gaming console has a problem and we don’t know how to fix Xbox 360 red light or rectify the problem, we have two options to get console repaired; either we take the help of a service engineer from market or send the console to Microsoft for repair. Additionally we will need to spend $100 to $ 150 for taking help of a person in the market or we will have to send $140 to Microsoft for Xbox 360 red light fix, so that gaming console is repaired.

Xbox 360 - price and problems

April 22nd, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

The Xbox 360, successor to the Xbox, is a video game console by Microsoft. Microsoft Xbox 360 contends with Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii. A prominent feature of the Xbox 360 is its integrated Xbox Live service. Arcade games, game demos, trailers,TV shows, movies, etc can be downloaded online using Xbox 360. Other features include its Windows Media Center multimedia capabilities, mandatory high definition support, movie rentals and the ability to watch HD DVD movies with an add-on drive. The Xbox 360 was unveiled on MTV on May 12, 2005, with detailed launch and game information divulged at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). 28 million units were sold all over the world, with the exception being Japan. It is currently available in three configurations: the “Arcade”, the “Pro”, and the “Elite” console, each with its own selection of accessories.

The Xbox 360 is the first game machine to lower its prices. Microsoft puts pressure on rivals Nintendo and Sony to cut the prices of their machines. Thus it facilitates more people to buy Xbox 360. It sells for less than $200, a key mass-market price that has accounted for more than 75 per cent of all machine sales in Microsoft. The US prices of the entry-level console of the video game machine, had been lowered to $50 below Nintendo Co Ltd’s top-selling Wii. The company said it will cut prices for its entry-level Xbox 360 Arcade, which comes without a hard drive, to $199 from its current price of $279 and it also will lower the prices of its mid-range and high-end Xbox 360 consoles by $50 each. Microsoft also had said it will cut the price of its Xbox 360 Pro, with a 60-gigabyte hard drive, to $299 from $349 and its top-end Xbox 360 Elite with a 120-gigabyte hard drive to $399 from $449.

Xbox 360 problems are quite common. The console is subject to a number of technical problems. Of all the indications, flashing red light series are used commonly to identify errors in the console. The three flashing red lights (”Red Ring of Death”) is the most infamous. Recently, there has been legal action taken attempting to hold Microsoft responsible for the failure rate and provide reasonable compensation for those affected. When a Microsoft Xbox 360 console experiences a “general hardware” failure or “core digital” failure, 3 flashing red lights appear around the power button, in lieu of the four green lights indicating normal operation. Warning signs includes freeze-ups, with graphical problems like checkerboard or pinstripe patterns in the middle of game play, frozen or strange, static-like sound, and the console only responds to pressing the power button to turn it off. When the error occurs, the user attempts to turn the console on and the three red lights are seen and the console will not function. In newer consoles, there can be three lights flashing with a green light flashing in the center for power outages.
