In-Fighting Behind Playstation Phone Leak?

Sony have a real problem when it comes to keeping things under wraps at their games console division. The demand is there of course: this stuff wouldn’t be leaked if no one wanted to see it. But even a questionable render of a product with a relevant logo design is considered ‘news’ for the kinds of blogs and websites that Sony fans frequent. It’s honestly rather ridiculous, and I suspect Sony feels the same way. With thousands and millions of devices being manufactured at factories throughout Asia, it seems inevitable that the existence of devices will be exposed far ahead of time, especially with western websites willing to pay quite generously for such photos. In May 2009, the internet was abuzz with the news that a slimline PS3 was on the way. Sony publicly denied that they were planning such a model, but the official boxart and plastic shell said otherwise. The PSP Go, a media-less version of the Playstation Portable, was ‘announced’ in similar fashion.

But Sony still can’t control the leaks, and the latest one comes from photos carrying the PSP logo on them. Gaming aficionados have been expecting a second Playstation Portable for several years, after the original lost market momentum and Nintendo announced its upcoming 3DS console. But the rise of the iPhone (and more recently, Android) has been a game changer for the portable gaming market, and Sony cannot afford to ignore the appeal of convergence. The logical step has seemed for some time to be a Playstation Phone, especially as Sony are in the unique position of having big brands in both phones and gaming.

It has now been about half a year since the first indicative proof of the Playstation Phone leaked out. They’ll finally announce it at the end of January. However, the leaks could even be a sign that the departments - gaming and mobile - simply aren’t getting on like they’re supposed to. Sporting the custom logo design of the Sony Ericsson ‘Xperia’ range, it’s supposedly been discovered that it won’t interface with the existing PSP go store. Instead, it will be a device for playing legacy Playstation One games. All that waiting doesn’t seem like it came with much of a reward, hmm?.

New Gamers Great Advice

March 14th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

If you are new to the world of gaming you may have a few questions on your mind. This can be a great pastime to have because you can actually make money from it if you are any good at it and you wouldn’t mind writing about it. Below is some advice for new gamers and if you are one then you should read on.

- One of the most important decisions you will need to make is if you want to enjoy PC gaming or console gaming. There is a lot of debate on this subject with one crowd claiming that PC gaming is dead while others claim that it is the only real type of gaming. It is not for me to tell you which one to choose, you will have to make that decision on your own. You will have to decide where you stay on the issue though, unless you intend to enjoy both kinds of gaming.

- Building your own computer could enhance your enjoyment even more if it is PC gaming that you are going to choose. If you don’t intend to do this then you will need to think carefully about how to improve your PC system so that you will be able to play different games in a lot of instances you will need to invest in an additional video gaming card for your computer.

- If you are going to be playing games on a console then you need to choose which platform you want to play your games on. This is an important choice because it will influence the types of games you will get to enjoy in the future. Games consoles are often replaced by the manufacturers and when this happens they tend to stop making games for the old models so you have to bear this in mind when making your choice.

R4 and gaming cards are fundamental to players every place, which means that being well prepared for just about all scenarios is the way to go. Some other stuff that gamers may very well be serious about are Accessoires Wii and Carte M3 DS Real.

Retro Gaming…but Not TOO Retro!

February 26th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

It’s been a long time since I indulged in the realm of gaming beyond occasionally playing games catering to those individuals known as “casual gamers.” I have been saving my pennies up for a while in order to treat myself to a new games console, which at first would going to take the form of a shiny new laptop. The laptops in my (admittedly low) price range however, comprised little in the way of commendable graphics cards and processors, making them a fairly poor choice for decent gaming.

I would have probably found more tech inside of a cheap condenser dryer!

Anyway, I did locate an item perfect for my price range and taste in computer games. Sony recently announced a range of LED TVs with a Sony Playstation 2 comprised as part of the base. The PS2 was the last computer console that I engaged with in an addictive manner, my love of gaming lessened significantly as the 3rd instalment of the console came out.

The PS2 does represent retro gaming, since it was released over ten years ago back in the year 2000 but I guess it represents retro in a more contemporary sense when compared the 8 bit glory of the Nintendo system. Surprisingly, the PS2 is still popular with many gamers today and as such, second hand PS2 titles are can be bought at quite a few high street gaming retailers and online on the WWW, for example at eBay and Amazon. And for heavily discounted prices too!

There are plenty of Playstation titles that I am just so eager to get into again including sandbox game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (the best selling Playstation 2 game of all time, shifting 17.33 million copies) and cult guitar battle game Guitaroo Man. I am also looking forward to a few games with my mates on Tekken 4and pimping my cars once again in Need for Speed - Most Wanted.

Why Retro Gaming Consoles Are Becoming So Popular

January 11th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

It might be time to root out that old gaming console if you have one hiding up in your attic. Believe it or not these consoles are growing in popularity and that means it might be possible for you to sell it and make a bit of cash. Maybe you won’t sell it at all and instead will start playing it again yourself and enjoying the same thing that everyone else seems to be enjoying - you may even start wondering why you stored it away in the first place. When you play these retro gaming consoles it is kind of like turning back the clock. Despite the huge advancements in gaming over the years you might be amazed at just how engaging these games still are. And if you have still been using this gaming console since it was first introduced then you will be glad to know that you are now fashionable again.

A lot of people are now kicking themselves for not holding onto their old gaming consoles. When people replace their old things with new items, they often can’t wait to get rid of the old stuff. How are we to know that it would all become fashionable again. You just have to visit places like eBay though, to see that there are gamers now willing to play huge sums of money for these consoles and the games that go with them. Check your attic because you might have a rare game that retro gamers will be willing to sell their grandmother for.

These days there are so many young people who are playing retro games that we were playing when we were teens and that they weren’t even born for first time around. It is fantastic to watch our own kids trying to finish games that we ourselves were struggling to complete at their age. One way to really impress your children is to show them how to get past these tough levels - that’s if you can remember, of course.

Memory cards tend to be products found in a lot of things in the modern day and age, and internet sites just like mobymemory.com are the most useful sites to obtain them. Places such as MobyMemory are ideal for additional things, iphone accessories happen to be a great example of this also. Just one more that you’ll find extensively available is the ipod accessories, and once again, you won’t go far wrong than investing in them online at sites similar to mobymemory.com .

Old Games Consoles And How To Get The Most Money For Them

November 30th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

You may be wondering how you can get some cash for an old games console if you have one that you are not using anymore. Not selling your old console because you feel you won’t get much for it or because you think it will be too much hassle is a bit silly and very pessimistic. It is highly likely that while you have had this console, that you have spent quite a bit of money not only on the console but on games and accessories and unless you have plenty of money to throw away then it makes sense to try and recoup some of the money you have spent. It is possible that you could make a good bit of money for your old console if you go about it in the right way. Here are a few ideas about how to get the most money for your old game console.

- Most people’s first port of call when trying to sell something these days is going to be the internet. The online world is overloaded with people trying to sell their unwanted items. So it is not going to be easy for you to get your item noticed. A different approach is to look in the real world for people to buy your game console. Stick up a few posters in places where people like to meet. Not everyone spends their life on the computer and people offline might be willing to spend a lot more money on your old game console.

- Selling your games console as a part of a package complete with accessories and some games might make it easier for you. It is going to be a much simpler process to sell as a package but you probably will have to sell the package for less than you would sell the items individually. Many buyers of second hand games consoles won’t consider looking at one that has no games with it. And if your games console is old, this will be even more true.

Memory cards are located in a large number of solutions and products these days, and ±nternet sites similar to www.mobymemory.com are the most useful websites to get them. Places such as Moby Memory are ideal for many other products, iphone accessories happen to be a great example of this also. Just one more that you’ll find extensively available is the ipod accessories, and once more, you’ll not go far wrong than purchasing these online at websites just like www.mobymemory.com .

Selling Your Old Games Console

November 25th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

If you have an old games consoles you may be wondering how you would be able to sell it. Because that way you could buy something new with the money that you make from the sale. If you do have an old games console then the chances are that you also have accessories and old games to sell as well. And as long as you are careful about how you do this deal, then you could very well end up with a good amount of money. If you are trying to sell your old games console then the following tips should help.

- The first order of business is for you to do a bit of research first of all. If you want to find out what other people are selling similar games consoles for then you can look online; there will be plenty of information there. You need to get an idea about how much people are selling for. As well as finding out how much to sell the games console for, you will also get an idea of how much you can sell the accessories and games for.

- You should then make up your mind about whether you are going to sell everything separately or try to sell everything that you have as a complete package. If you sell them as a package you will likely get a lot less money but you will probably find it easier to sell everything together. You need to know that it will probably take you longer and will involve much more effort on your part if you try to sell everything separately, although you could end up with more money.

- It can be a good idea to use eBay to sell your items but before you do this, there may be other options that are worth considering.

- Check if this is allowed and if it is, then stick up some posters in your local area first. You can print these posters up cheaply and contain some tear-off contact details. If you don’t want to give your mobile phone number you can just give an email address.

Moby memory Cards can be found in countless products nowadays. 4GB micro SD cards can give you a great example of a memory card. Another one that is used nowadays is the 1TB media player.

How To Look After Your Games Console

November 1st, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

You are going to want to make sure that you get to use your games console for a long time especially if you have spent quite a bit of money on it. If you want to make sure your games console lasts longer then the tips below will help.

- Do your best to ensure that your games console is free from dust. Doing this will make sure that the dust does not get inside the console and start causing other problems. One of the problems with dust is it can cause the games console to overheat by getting into the fan and stopping it from working properly. Give your game console a regular wipe down and this should prevent dust from becoming too much of a problem.

- When removing games from the console, make sure you always follow the manufacturers instructions. If you remove the game while the internal computer is still working it could cause some harm to your computer.

- Make sure you don’t allow your games console to overheat. When it comes to malfunction of these machines, this is probably the biggest cause. Always make sure that your console has good ventilation and if it seems too hot you should turn it off for a while.

- When you are playing games you need to be careful if you are drinking or eating at the same time. Damage which cannot be repaired could be caused if you spill drinks on the games console.

- If you need to move your games console from one location to another then take care when doing this and make sure that you have switched it off beforehand.

- Always read the instructions for how to care for your game console specific to your model. Each system will have its own instructions about how to prevent damage.

- Use a power surge protector if you live in an area which is prone to power surges. Your games console could be damaged every time it is subjected to a surge.

Memory cards are used in many products today. iphone accessories are a good example as well. Yet another that you can find widely available is the ipad accessories.

How To Get Rid Of Your Old Games Consoles

October 14th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

You may be wondering what you are going to do with your old games console if you have just bought a brand new one. It is unlikely that the price you are offered for a trade in will be worth the hassle involved in going down this route. The following ideas might help you when it comes to deciding what to do with your old games console.

- EBay is a good place to try to sell it. Set up an eBay account if you don’t already have one because eBay is a great place to sell things. As well as selling your game console you might want to also use the opportunity to get rid of some of old games as well - maybe you can sell the whole lot as a package.

- Go to a car boot sale and you can also get rid of any other old stuff that you don’t want anymore.

- Store your game console up in the attic for a few years until it becomes retro. You never know, thirty years from now, your games console might fetch quite a price. Securely pack it away so that it stays in good condition for when you do actually want to sell it. Another great thing about storing your game console like this is that it will be nice to play all these retro games when you are older - it will remind you of what a great time you once had.

- Donating your old games console to charity is something to think about. It really is a good thing to give to those less well off than ourselves and some other person will get enjoyment from the games console that you don’t want anymore. If you believe in Karma then this can only be a good thing for you; after all you give to receive.

If you have a PS3, then you have definitely heard about the PS3 Jailbreak. It has the ability to change the face of PS3 gaming.

The Unique Nintendo Wii

May 25th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

When Nintendo first released in Wii console, way back in 2006, it represented an enormous change for the gaming industry. Even although this is a sector which is used to rapid change, the release of the Nintendo Wii was still a major deviation from the norm. Instead of introducing a more powerful, faster console, with upgraded graphics, the Wii introduced a completely new technique for playing games thanks to its innovative control system.

The Wii uses a motion sensitive, handheld wireless controller, which is able to detect motion and acceleration in every direction. Instead of using a conventional D-pad or joystick, gamers point, swing, and gesture using the remote control – now named the Wii-mote. This results in a very intuitive game interaction which cannot be found on any other console.

It’s very easy to quickly learn how to play games on the Wii. In the end, if you don’t know what to do, just flail your arms around a little bit more energetically and see what happens. That may well be one of the reasons why the Wii appeals to a much broader age group than some other consoles.

Playing games on the Wii definitely needs much more physical movement than the average computer game. The Wii is bundled with the “Wii Sports” game – and now “Wii Sports Resort” – which is the perfect vehicle to demonstrate just how different the Wii control system is. Wii Sports has five different games – boxing, tennis, golf, baseball and boxing. These are ideal vehicles to demonstrate, using the natural movements required in each sport, to new users how to use the Wii controller to its best effect. The Wii Sports Resort includes 12 further sports based games, such as table tennis, canoeing and sword fighting – all of which use the Wii’s motion sensitive controllers to maximum effect.

The games that ship with the Wii console are very good. They should keep you amused for a good length of time - and the other sort of games which do not finish. As long as you have a couple of family members or friends who want a game of tennis or golf you can keep going back to Wii Sports again and again – and you probably will.

However, there is a very good selection of games that you can buy for the Wii. Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog are always very popular and Wii Fit has proven to be an enormous success for Nintendo. The option of exercising in your own living room, without having to buy any expensive special equipment, is a big bonus for many people. Apart from your Wii console, all you will need is the Wii Fit software and the Wii Fit balance board – which are a fraction of the cost of a gym membership. The Wii also records and tracks your progress, acting as your personal trainer.

As a result of the Wii’s appeal across a wide age group, you will often find it in the living room of family homes rather than tucked away in a teenager’s bedroom. It does appear to be a more sociable console than the others - a lot of the games are best enjoyed in groups or teams, although you can play against the computer if you wish. That may be one of the reasons why the recently released black Wii has proven to be such a great success for Nintendo. It could be down to the fact that it is more coordinated with the other devices to be found in the typical family living room.

Black Wii - Looking Good

March 14th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Playstation 2 Games, Playstation 3 Games, Playstation Games

It’s probably reasonable to suggest that all of the big three games consoles – Sony’s PS3, the Microsoft Xbox and the Nintendo Wii – all have their own strong points. Different gamers will have their own personal favourites and it’s pretty much a waste of time to try to persuade them that one of the other consoles is any better.

A lot of households today will have more than one, and very possibly all three, games consoles. Not to mention the various mobile consoles like the Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS. It’s quite common these days for games consoles to also see use as blu-ray disc or DVD players.

However, ignoring the almost pointless discussion regarding which console is “best”, it’s probably reasonable to suggest that the Nintendo Wii is the most sociable of the three available consoles. Whereas the Xbox and PS3 are often to be found in teenager’s bedrooms, the Wii is more commonly found in the family living room. The Wii has less processing power than the other two consoles and has much simpler graphics – more cartoon like in general. Even so, it is more often the Wii that can be found wired up to the big flat-screen TV in the living room.

One important factor in this is the fact that the Wii’s motion sensitive controller means that, even though the graphics may be simpler, it’s more difficult to follow the action on a small screen TV when you’re jumping around all over the place. The other thing is that it’s easier and more intuitive to learn games on the Wii. It’s so easy that even adults can manage it – so it’s a lot easier for all the family members to take part in the fun.

One of the consequences of all that jumping about when playing Wii games is that more space is required to play the Wii than the other consoles. This also makes the living room a more attractive choice than the typical teenage bedroom, where you would be tripping over discarded clothes, half eaten pizzas and empty juice bottles. The physical side of playing games on the Wii is a good thing. It means that there’s a certain amount of exercise involved when playing Wii games. Mind you, you should be careful and take it easy at first. It’s all too easy to wake up with a sore arm or stiff legs after an evening playing Wii Sports for the first time.

The tendency for families to have their Wii console in the living room could go some way to explaining the success of the black Wii. Nintendo went to the dark side and released a black Wii console in Japan in the summer of 2009. It was launched in Europe in time for Christmas 2009. It turned out to be an extremely popular choice with many gamers – possibly because it matches the TV, the cable box, the DVD player etc. – better than the white version.
