You Can Rent Resident Evil 5 for the Xbox 360 System!

Yes, Resident Evil 5 was released for Xbox 360 in March! It is finally available and you can either buy it, rent it or just check out game info at multiple locations on the web.
I think Resident Evil 5 is an excellent addition in the continuing game series. It picks up about a decade after the events of the original game and immediately focuses the game on getting Umbrella Corporation’s bio-weapons out of the hands of terrorist leaders.
The story fills the time gap through Chris Redfield’s life, where he’s part of the BSAA, or the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance. As you play along, he’s sent to review the threat of a biological organic weapon in the deserts of Africa. He and Sheva Alomar team up there, and because RE5’s new game focus now is on Co-Op play, Chris and Sheva’s relationship actually changes how you play the game.
Chris and Sheva set out to stop Ricardo Irving from selling Umbrella Corp’s bio-organic weapon on the black market, but soon find that almost all of the locals have been turned into creatures called Majini. The Majini state is the horrific result of the locals ingesting a sick looking parasite. Although tragic, after that happens they are no longer human, but ferocious beasts.
Combat is unavoidable as Chris and Sheva have to fight their way through these flesh-eating creatures to survive. Hold it … was that something in the shadows, or just my imagination? You won’t be able to get enough of the new graphics and light effects – and you’ll be glad you have a partner!
They find Alpha team destroyed, with Captain DeChant severely injured but still alive. DeChant helps them get info on Irving, which sends them on a journey filled with crashes and Majini ambushes that are simply chilling attacks.
Find and loose Irving, discover a weapons test facility, battle a huge beast that turns out to be Irving, this time after he injects himself with a virus. The Progenitor virus is discovered in an underground world, along with hundreds of encapsulated human subjects used to perfect it … and it just keeps getting better.
But be careful. If you’re a die-hard Resident Evil 1, 2 or 3 fan … and you didn’t like Resident Evil 4, I strongly recommend you try renting before buying. I also recommend looking at game guides, screen shots, video clips and even “how to” information on controller ops as well. It’s certainly available now.
To save you a bit of time, it’s pretty safe to say that the creepiness of RE 1,2 and 3 is no longer present (and some are downright upset about it), but the action is almost nonstop.
The lonely, 2 bullets left in pitch black with a hopeless feeling of not knowing what’s about to happen has been replaced by fabulous graphics, a great sound track and massive combat at just about every turn. So although it isn’t as creepy as before, it is simply busting with action. And that’s in the brightest sunshine or the deepest of dark. But it is definitely a departure from the original RE1, 2, 3 game series.
The co-op focus of the game makes playing online, or with a partner in Xbox 360 split screen mode the best, but hogging the screen all to yourself and allowing AI to control Sheva is still great fun.
Replay? You bet – you’ll want to play the new RE5 release more than once most likely. Why? Well … you get to keep your treasures and BSAA emblems the next game as well - and - you can keep your weapons upgrades too! That’s a great game change in my book. If you prefer a more original Resident Evil flavor, replay RE5 in the mercenary mode the second or third time through. It’s also worth a replay as Chris with unlimited Ammo and super weapons!
At the end of the day, I have to agree with about 90% of the game players … fun is fun, and this game has plenty of it. So try game rental if you’re not certain, or buy if you are … but either way, Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 is a must play. Then let me know what you think!
