Before the BC and WOTLK expansions have been released, cooking wasn’t really appreciated compared to other professions. Cooking is a secondary profession and therefore it is optional however, it is a very interesting and fun profession which is one of the reasons why many players decide to level it. Why should I level up cooking?

Most of the players who level up cooking do it for many reasons such as fun, achievements, title, to enhance their performance in raids or just to make some profit. As you are able to notice, Cooking will give you many possibilities and fun things to do.

A perfect match

It is said that cooking and fishing are the perfect pair. You can level up cooking without the need for fishing but your cooking levelling will definitely go a lot faster if you have fishing as well, and not to mention the profit from both of these professions combined.

Become a Chef

This title isn’t easy to obtain and that’s why it became very popular. If you are going for this title keep in mind that you will have to accomplish a list of different cooking achievements. Some of these achievements will require you to learn many recipes in Northrend as well as in Outland and to devote some time into doing the daily quests.

Why should I do the daily quests?

While you were in the Outlands, by doing the cooking daily quests you were able to discover and learn new recipes, receive some money and more food. With the WOTLK expansion, cooks will have a lot of fun while doing the Dalaran daily cooking quests. Players of the Alliance need to visit Katherine Lee in the s/w inn (the Silver Enclave), while players of the Horde need to visit Awilo Lon’gomba (the Sunreaver’s Inn). There are five quests in total: Infused Mushroom Meatloaf, Sewer Stew, Cheese for Glowergold, Mustard Dogs! and Convention at the Legerdemain

These quests will have some gold to offer you as a reward as well as the Small Spice Bag and a Dalaran Cooking Reward. The Small Spice Bag will always surprise you with a Dalaran Cooking Reward extra, more Northern spices and even some recipes. This bag also contains some special spices like Baby Spice and Old Spice. A Baby Spice could be really fun since it can make you or a targeted player smaller.

With the Dalaran Cooking Rewards you will be able to purchase special kind of recipes for stronger foods. If you collect 100 you can also obtain a Chef’s hat with the Cooking with Style achievement. It might seem a bit expensive, but still, the Chef’s hat will allow a cook to prepare his food much faster. You can also purchase 10 more Northern spices with one Dalaran Cooking Reward. Food made from these is the best food in the game and it can be sold for a lot of gold on the Auction House.

Some extra tips for the daily quests

Since you will get a random daily quest each day you should have some things prepared in advance. For most of these quests you will need to have Chilled Meat and for a Mustard Dogs! quest you will be asked to prepare some Rhino Dogs from the Rhino Meat. If you farm these meats in advance you will surely save some time while doing dailies. If you have everything prepared than doing any of these cooking dailies will take just a few moments.
