Buying gifts can be nerve wracking and stress producing, no matter how much you love shopping or how close the recipients are to you. Maybe ‘it’s the thought that counts’ but you really want that thought to count! Perhaps your sister just had twins, or your teenage nephew is asking for new computer gaming equipment, you have plenty of options!
Maybe your college roommate is having twins, and your kid brother needs a new computer game system. Your shopping list for your friend now includes a double stroller and some baby bath towels from a particular designer. You’ve scoured your local retailers to no avail. What to do? Head to your computer and let your fingers do the walking.
No need to search store by store; just type in what you’re looking for and you might be lucky enough to be directed to sites that do some price checking for you, or even to sites that offer used items for sale.
Also check sites that have used baby items for sale. Even your local newspaper probably has an online site where people can post ads for free. Check out the used baby products - there are plenty of good deals in there! Most baby equipment costs a small fortune, and there’s no sense just putting it in the garage and forgetting about it - it’s much too expensive!
Since these particular strollers are pretty expensive, many families either sell them online in places like Craigslist or the classified section in the local newspaper. It’s a great deal, actually. The original family can recoup some of its original costs, and the new family gets to save money and still get a superb stroller for the new twins.
In the case of the bath towels, this might be a bit more difficult. Find out what these particular towels are so important to her. It might be that you could find a replacement set she’d like even better. Maybe the ones she asked for come in the perfect color for the new nursery, or she believes these are softer than all the rest, or something as silly as they were recommended and she has no idea why they are so special. You might find it easier to just get her something similar and she’ll be just as happy.
Now, what about your kid brother? He’ll probably love a Nintendo ps3. Over the past few years the prices have really come down to about half of what they used to be and almost every store carries them.
