In this world, a shaman is all about the spiritual world and the belief of it. A Shaman in the World of Warcraft Shaman is a warrior and could be a very powerful character, if played the best possible way. If you are thinking of choosing this character, then continue to read this guide on how to become a great WoW Shaman.

It is important to consider that the character’s skill has to be meshed well in this class type. Finding a group that is in need of a Shaman is one of the most important things you should take a look at first before you start using the Shaman. When in a group, their abilities are a must and and can contribute more strength to the whole group.

Getting Started as a Shaman

This class is limited when starting out, for example, only the Dranei can be a Shaman for the Alliance. If you are on the Horde side, only the Trolls, Orc, the Undead or Taurean can qualify to be a Shaman. Even though, you should not take its weak points for granted, for they may be useful in the long run.

Shamans use their mana points to cast some spells. Your goal is to use your mana points wisely by using moderate approach, not using too much nor too little. It is advised to use your mana in a medium scale, just when it is really needed. If not, you may either spend all of your time trying to regenerate, or rather risk losing valuable health points.

Learn healing spells as much as you can since shamans are more useful in this area, especially in a group setting. hamans need groups for protection, and groups needs Shamans for the healing spells, which is why it may be best to learn all of the healing spells and potions.

How to pick a Shaman profession

Physically demanding professions ( blacksmith, leatherworker) are not ideal for this class. I would suggest professions such as Enchanting and Herbalism. Skinning could be another facet but only to a small degree. Just remember to think of a right combination of primary and secondary professions.

You may consider herbalism and enchanting as you primary and secondary professions. You could also opt to mix alchemy with herbalism or enchanting and alchemy. Although some players would like to try mining as their secondary profession, this is not as recommended because it can take up too much time leaving you less time for the game itself.

Potion making is also probably the best way to becoming a Shaman, not to mention earning money for they are in demand. If you want to be successful at your chosen profession, spare a good quality of time in mastering your skills by formulating and new potions and useful spells.

Although a tailoring profession can also be useful, most players like to purchase their own armor only when they need it. Leather armors are available for a reasonable price at Level 40 anyway. Pieces of armor are also given as rewards for a lot of quests. So it would be a good idea to focus your attention on professions that work as a revenue stream and that gives earns you more skills for the grou.
